Swan Song

After painting my Vintage Rose and Sweet Pea pieces, I felt there was a third piece missing from the collection. Then I found this elegantly dramatic, mid-centery, green glazed swan incense burner.

I named her Swan Song. While working on her, I was listening to an audio book. At the end of the love story, the main character’s love interest dedicates a song to her and called it his ‘swan song.’ Apropos.

I wasn’t sure if she would speak to anyone like she did me, and at my very first exhibition, not 30 minutes in a woman walked in and picked her up and said “I need this.” I replied “You are my kind of people.”
